Essendon match-ball partner Yakult has signed a two-year contract extension.

As part of the deal, Yakult will become a significant supporter of the Bombers' community programs and becomes an official community partner.

""We are delighted to have re-signed with Essendon - we are very pleased with the focus upon community involvement that the club has as one its core values,"" Yakult National Sales Manager, David Whatley, said.

""That focus fits very well with Yakult's philosophy of contributing to the health and happiness of people around the world.

""Our relationship is a long-standing one with Essendon. We have enjoyed our relationship with Peter Jackson and the Essendon Football Club and we are confident that the new management, headed by Ian Robson, will continue the focus on community that is one of the club's core values.""

The signing is seen as a good result for the club as it will extend the relationship with Yakult to seven years.
