Mark McVeigh has not been ruled out of contention for Friday night's clash with West Coast in Perth despite recently spending five nights in hospital with blood poisoning.
General manager of football operations, Paul Hamilton, said on The Recovery Room today that the 29-year-old trained this morning and remains in contention to play.
""He (McVeigh) is back at the club which is a relief for all,"" Hamilton said.
""He got out (of hospital) on Friday and was feeling pretty flat, pretty tired, which is what would be expected. Now we just need to see how he comes through, how he trains and we need to be a little careful with him.""
Hamilton said the medical staff would keep a close eye on how McVeigh's body reacts over the next few days.
""We just want to make sure he is right before we take him over (to Perth) .. he will be assessed as the week goes on,"" he said.
Hamilton confirmed that Angus Monfries would unfortunately miss another week with a slight quad strain but that Leroy Jetta was progressing well from a bad thumb injury.
""Leroy will see the surgeon tomorrow and we are hoping for good news there,"" he said.
""There is an outside chance he will even be available to play (seniors) this weekend but it's probably unlikely.""
Hamilton said Jetta would most likely play a half for the Bendigo Bombers this Saturday.
