The Bombers look set to have an exciting year on-field, and the club has received a great boost off-field too, recently signing its 30,000th member.

The Bombers are the second Victorian club to break the 30,000 members barrier this year.

""Essendon has a young and exciting list so there is no better time to sign-up to one of our membership packages,"" Membership Manager, Melissa Chan, said.

There is something to suit all budgets and all situations no matter where you live.

""We have seven huge ‘home’ Victorian Blockbusters against Collingwood (Anzac Day), Carlton and Richmond at the MCG, and Hawthorn, Geelong, St Kilda and Western Bulldogs at Telstra Dome, so there is plenty to look forward to for the football traditionalists.

""Becoming a member is the best way to become part of the Essendon family, receive the benefits of membership and truly show your support for the Bombers whether you live in Melbourne, Cairns or Broome.""

Ms Chan said the Advantage membership package has been very popular, as it allows fans to spread payments over 12 months, as has the Beyond the Boundary membership (Non match day).

""Reaching 30,000 members is great, but we need our fans to get behind the playing group and push that tally over last year’s record of 42,000,"" Ms Chan said.

""Essendon has around 1 million fans world-wide, and we are calling on you now to show your true colours by becoming a member and proudly calling Essendon ‘My Club’ in 2009.
