Bomber big man David Hille is expected to be available for this weekend’s blockbuster clash against Brisbane at The Pressure Cooker. Hille was a late withdrawal from the Round 11 match with a sore calf. ""David was left out as a matter of caution so the soreness he wasn't experiencing was aggravated during the match,"" football manager Dominic Cato said.
Jason Winderlich came into the team in place of Hille, but the 19-year-old didn’t have the most successful afternoon. He received knock in the third quarter, which caused concussion and he took no further part in the game. Bomber veteran Joe Misiti also left the field with concussion after a knock late in the third quarter. ""Both players have pulled up well, but we are still monitoring their progress. A decision will be made later in the week as to their availability,"" Cato said.
After injuring his hamstring last week, Jobe Watson is expected to be sidelined for the next two weeks. ""Jobe is progressing well and we expect him to return in the scheduled time. He will be doing a modified training program this week and should be back to full training next week.""
As reported last week on the BomberLand website, Joel Reynolds has returned to training after six weeks on the sidelines with glandular fever. Cato said although Reynolds is back training, he is still a fair distance away from playing. ""Because Joel is recovering from glandular fever, we need to monitor his condition so that he doesn’t become fatigued and suffer a further setback in his rehabilitation. That is why he is taking a bit longer,"" he said.
In other injury news, Mark Mercuri is progressing well and is still on target to return post the bye weekend. James Davies is recovering from surgery on his foot and at this stage is three weeks away. Young ruckman Tristan Cartledge is expected to return this weekend after two weeks on the sidelines with an injured ankle.
