Kevin Sheedy recorded two firsts on the weekend – one of which he is keen to forget. He and wife Geraldine celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Saturday night at a restaurant in Perth. And on Sunday while watching the beach volleyball on City Beach, the Bomber coach fainted due to the extreme heat and dehydration. ""It was the night after our 25th wedding anniversary, so that was it – 25 years and see you later darl!"" Sheedy laughed.

Geraldine and his oldest daughter Renee were on the scene and immediately called an ambulance when Sheedy fainted. ""It has never happened before so I didn’t know what was going on. I just got a bit dizzy and fell down and the lights went off for a little while. I was standing up, so I sat down very quickly – I can assure you of that. My wife was very good and my daughter is a nurse so she was pretty handy. They just rang an ambulance straight away,"" Sheedy said.

Sheedy was taken to Charles Gardiner Hospital and was given a clean bill of health after a medical examination. ""I have never fainted before so it was pretty embarrassing lying down the beach and having all of those West Coast fans saying – ""can’t you handle the heat son!"" To be quite honest I should have had more water than what I did. It was the last day of my holiday and we were rushing around and then went down to the beach and all of a sudden it was 12 o’clock and it was 40 degrees.""

Sheedy and family caught their scheduled flight last night from Perth and he returned to work this morning. ""There has been enough water put in around my office today. The hardest part was getting Mark Harvey out of my office on the first day back!"" The Bomber coach is not on any medication and said he won’t be returning to City Beach in Perth for a while!
