Hundreds of indigenous children from right across Australia were treated to an unforgettable experience at Windy Hill on Friday getting up close and personal with some of their football idols.

A range of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island groups visited Windy Hill to watch the Bombers go through their final training session ahead of Saturday night’s Dreamtime at the g match against Richmond.

Coach James Hird joined indigenous trio Paddy Ryder, Leroy Jetta and Courtenay Dempsey posing for photos and signing autographs for the children after the session.

The groups were then taken on a tour of the Windy Hill facility including inner sanctum access to the gymnasium and player preparation areas.

Essendon Football Club is proud of its continuing indigenous program and earlier this week launched the club’s third Reconciliation Action Plan which can be read here.
