Robert Shaw’s thoughts:
With Paul Barnard and Steve Alessio's retirement, the succession plan is in place. Ted probably should have got more games in 2003, but he didn't. When he didn't get games he was still playing football at centre half forward and centre half back in the VFL competition, so he has been constantly learning the game. Some areas of improvement are still needed in regards to the technical side of his game, but his endeavour and enthusiasm and strengths that he brings to the side will be invaluable next year. I think his improvement next year will again go through the roof.
What some of fan’s had to say:
After a slow start to the season Ted shone and deservedly won a rising star nomination. I think he should have had more match time and he showed that he can become a key forward for the club in the future. Rachael Bransgrove
I liked what I saw. Teddy is not scared to go in for the hard ball and has great determination. He follows through with his tackles and other passages of play. Well done. Looking forward to seeing more of him next season! Joanne Wallis
Surprisingly he showed signs of just how valuable he will be to the dons in the seasons to come. he needs to get more of a go in the seniors. Nick Linehan
I am impressed with his attack on the footy and his attitude is first class in terms of making/creating contests and having a red hot go. The question for the coaching staff is where is he best suited to play? Alan Fairbairn
Wasn't given enough time in the seniors or on the ground, was always one of the first to be dropped. Very good player with a lot of determination and handy around the goals. Hopefully 2004 will be Ted's year and he will cement a place in the seniors. Very popular player with supporters. Karole Prince
Exciting prospect that hopefully provide another goal scoring option in 2004 onwards. Looks to have good skills and good footy smarts. Should be aiming for 15-20 games in 2004 and 20-30 goals. Andrew Leung
Ted, you have been an exciting prospect and you can be happy with your development this season. Your pace and skill is exciting to watch. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing you play more wonderful games with the bombers. John Poke
