Rising star David Hille was a late withdrawal from Friday night's match due to a virus. Hille had been suffering from a mild case of the flu during the week and the coaching panel did not want to risk him. ""There was nothing serious with Hille. He had been a bit sick during the week and with the weather we pulled him out of the side. He will definitely be available for selection this week. The good news also is James Hird is progressing well and assuming he doesn't suffer a set-back in the interim, we expect him back in two weeks. He will be participating in skills work this week,"" Drain said.
Joe Misiti and Matthew Lloyd are also progressing well through their rehabilitation programs. Both have been spending a lot of time in the gym on the bike to maintain their fitness levels. ""Due to the nature of Lloyd and Misiti's injuries, they aren't able to run yet. To maintain their cardio-vascular fitness they have been doing a lot of work on the bike. Both of them are progressing well and they should be back in action in three to four weeks.""
Another plus for the Bombers is the progress of Dean Solomon. We reported in the Engine Room two weeks ago that Solomon is progressing well through his rehabilitation program - doing conditioning work on the bike, in the pool and also in the gym. Drain said that Solomon is continuing to work through his program and is on schedule with his training. ""Solomon's knee is getting stronger each week and he will start jogging in the coming weeks. He is also in good spirits which is a positive sign for someone who has suffered such a serious injury and set-back to his season,"" Drain said.
