The Bombers look set to welcome a number of big names back to to the side - including David Hille and Angus Monfries - when they return from the mid-season break to take on Adelaide at AAMI Stadium.
General manager of football operations Paul Hamilton said to Bomber.tv today that Hille and Monfries have overcome their injuries and will be valuable inclusions for Round 14.
“They have both recovered really well from their hamstring injuries and should both play against Adelaide in Adelaide,” Hamilton said on The Recovery Room.
“They are both very important players for the team so we would love to have them back in there.”
Hamilition said that despite being named for the Bendigo Bombers on the weekend, Ricky Dyson and Courtenay Dempsey were rested to ensure that they would be available to take on the Crows in two weeks time.
“Courtenay had a little bit of hamstring tightness which is the reason he didn’t play. We don’t think it is anything sinister, we just decided we were better off not playing him at all.
“Ricky has just had a number of small problems he has persevered with. We decided just to rest him altogether, giving him two full weekends off so that from a body point-of-view he is ready to go and ready to rip in the second half of the season.”
Young gun Tayte Pears is recovering well after undergoing pancreas surgery, with the club’s first priority for the key defender being his health.
“His recovery has improved; he is out of intensive care and into his own room and ward,” Hamilton said.
“At the moment football is the last of our thoughts. Health is number one and getting him back into football is the second aim.”
