If you went through Essendon’s draw for season 2004 you might have been tempted to file this weekend’s season opener against Port Adelaide under “bonus”. Port is a good side and the Bombers’ away record isn’t great so that is fair enough – a win would be a bonus. But wouldn’t it be great if the Bombers could steal an early win on the road. There might be a few players missing this weekend but they still have enough quality to produce an upset.
