Who is the most important Indigenous player?
<DIV>
After a courageous effort against St Kilda, the Bombers will now take on Richmond in the annual Dreamtime at the ‘G clash this Saturday.
Essendon has seven talented Indigenous players on the list and, ahead of this game that celebrates the contribution of Indigenous players, this week’s poll asks which Indigenous player is the most important to Bombers?
Is it Paddy Ryder in the ruck, maybe you think Alwyn Davey's spark is crucial or is it Andrew Lovett or Courtenay Dempsey?
In last week’s poll we asked who took the better mark against Hawthorn, the fans voted that Paddy Ryder’s mark was better with 60.58% ahead of Angus Monfries' mark with 39.42%.
Here’s what some of the fans had to say:
Anne B from Vic says: Paddy Ryder for mine but I would have loved to be able to vote for both of them.
Kay Cox from QLD says: They were both great marks I chose Angus because he is not as tall or agile as Paddy. Lloyd took a top mark too, GO BOMBERS!
Samantha from Ballarat says: This was a tough poll. Took me ages to decide and nearly had to flip a coin. Paddy wins by gaining a little more height than Angus. Both amazing marks though!
Joseph Attard from Taylors Hill says: With all due respect to Gus, Paddy’s mark was inspirational. It was simply amazing and complements his style of game that he loves to play.
Brad from Oakleigh says: I think Paddy’s mark was fantastic and it made me jump from my seat but the one Angus took was just that little bit more spectacular!
Valerie Hood from Vic says: If there was a way to vote a draw I would. Two great marks by two great young players.
Greg Sloan from Somerville VIC says: Both of them great grabs. It's Ryder by a nose. Love the way Dons are going about it, for such a young group. On Friday we not only saw the very bright future of the Bombers, we saw the future of AFL football. So much speed and tenacity. Great coaching. Delighted.
Stephanie from Vic says: Well they were both great marks but paddy jumped higher and that’s why I thought it was a better mark. Angus' mark was excellent too.
Trev from South Aus says: Both awesome grabs but seeing Paddy Ryder flying like that is the reason he is one of my favourite players. Looking forward to many more in the future!
Nancy H from Victoria says: Ryder’s mark was very impressive. I did vote for Angus though. He’s still a developing player and to take a mark like that was superb. I believe it was his best game played so far this season, and we could expect much more from him. He's my favourite ;)
Nicole from Torquay says: I'm sorry but anything that Angus does is better than anyone else!
In Round 6 of the VFL, the Bendigo Bombers took on ladder leaders Williamstown on a cold afternoon at the Queen Elizabeth Oval. The Bombers’ who are yet to secure a win for the season faced a colossal size task in tackling the undefeated Seagulls. Bendigo was boosted with the inclusion of several Essendon listed players, including veteran forward Scott Lucas, Michael Hurley, Darcy Daniher, Brent Prismall and Leroy Jetta.
