In honour of Matthew Lloyd's tremendous career at Essendon, the club tonight announced that the annual leading goal-kicker award would be re-named as the Matthew Lloyd Leading Goal-kicker Award.
The announcement was made as Matthew Lloyd was presented with this year's goal-kicking award at the Crichton Medal at Crown Palladium.
Lloyd said he was honoured to have the award named after him.
The function also included a special video tribute to retiring champions Scott Lucas and Lloyd.
Retiring managing director Peter Jackson was also made a life member of the club.
