Finals fever is on the menu as Bomber.tv brings you a brand new program – ‘The Finals Show’. Featuring Essendon assistant coach, Ashley Prescott, and ex-Premiership player, Paul Barnard, the show takes an in depth look at the contenders for the quarter finals this weekend.

Prescott also discusses the positives that came out of Essendon’s Round 22 loss to St Kilda.

“John Williams - the first gamer - came in and took a great mark in the centre of the ground and really showed a bit of his potential,” Prescott said.

The retirements of Essendon champions Adam Ramanauskas, Mal Michael, Jason Johnson and departure of Damien Peverill was also a discussion point.

“The way the club and the players handled the retirements and celebrated the retirements was really good,” he said.

“It leaves a great legacy for the younger players and hopefully in the future we will see the benefits from it.”

Prescott explored what can be learnt from the 2008 season, including being beaten badly and watching players move on, but ensured there will be a lot to look forward to in the future.

“It’s been a development-type year. There are some pleasing aspects we can take out of it, but a 100-point loss is just not good enough,” he said.

“We now look forward to a solid preseason.”

With four big finals game to be played this weekend, Prescott provided an inside word on who would come out triumphant with a lot of games expected to go down to the wire.

“Hawthorn are an interesting side and a team I hope Essendon can model itself on in the coming years and I think Hawthorn will be just too strong,” Prescott said.
