There will be a strong Essendon contingency taking on the Bendigo Bombers this Sunday. Premiership player Justin Blumfield faces his old club and former Essendon assistant coach David Flood will be in the opposite coaches box as the Coburg Tigers coach. Ex-Bomber ruckman Ryan O'Connor will also come up against his old side, when Coburg takes on Bendigo at Punt Road this Sunday at 2pm.

The Bendigo Bombers will be keen to rebound after their disappointing loss to Port Melbourne last week. Inaccurate kicking in the final quarter cost Bendigo the four points. The six-point loss was Bendigo's third successive defeat and saw them drop out of the top eight.

The Bombers head into the side with a quality VFL line-up. Aaron Henneman, Ted Richards, Gary Moorcroft and Mark Alvey not only strengthen the side, but also add valuable experience. Youngsters Jobe Watson, Kepler Bradley and Ricky Dyson are all in good form. Watson collected 31 possessions last week and booted one goal. Bradley was the side’s top goal scorer against Port Melbourne, kicking three majors.

However, it will be a tough battle with Coburg in good form and fielding an impressive team. Duncan Kellaway, Ty Zantuck and David Rodan are just some of the Richmond inclusions in the Coburg side. Coburg is currently in sixth position and have recorded four wins for the season.
