As the 2010 AFL season heats up, so too does the exciting action in the adidas SuperBoot and Footy Tipping Competitions, with Bomber fans putting their football knowledge to the test on essendonfc.com.au.

Essendon Footy Tipping entrants have accepted skipper Jobe Watson’s challenge to attempt to beat his footy tipping score, as well as put themselves in the mix to win one of the fantastic Samsung or Adidas prizes up for grabs.

Avid tippers Jack Adams and Ellen Carter both had high-scores of 8 in Round 2, taking them to first position, with a total score of 15 ahead of Watson’s score of 12. Fellow entrants Daniel Brown, Richard Mew, Tiahn Plapp, Daniel Stephens and Karthi McLeod are also tied in rank one.

This week Watson tipped Collingwood, North Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Essendon, Adelaide, Bulldogs and Fremantle for a win.

Over $7000 worth of prizes are up for grabs in the Footy Tipping Competition, with this year’s first prize winner taking home a 50-inch Samsung Plasma Screen TV with a Samsung Blu-ray Home Theatre package (a total value of $2600).

Additionally, every entrant who beats Jobe Watson’s overall tipping total will receive a $20 Bombershop e-voucher (redeemable for spending a minimum of $50).

A Samsung digital camera will be given away each week for one randomly selected entrant who correctly tips 8 winners.

The competition is also heating up in adidas SuperBoot, with five competitors tied in first position on the leader-board.

Stacey Robertson, Craig Mason, Nathan Paul are currently sitting at the top of the ladder, each kicking three goals with Barry Hall to score them a cumulative total of 17 points. Travis Nichols and Glen Currie are also tied in the top spot, kicking three goals with Brent Harvey and Jarryd Roughead respectively.

The first prize in the adidas SuperBoot this year is a Samsung 50-inch plasma valued at $1600, with Samsung digital cameras and adidas products also up for grabs for second and third prize winners.

A weekly prize of a $20 Bomber Shop voucher (redeemable for spending a minimum of $50) will also be awarded to the entrant who scores the most goals in each round.

The competition may be heating up, but at only Round 3 it could still be anyone’s game.
