SOME FACTS FOR THE TRIVIA FREAKS
There were a few quirky facts out of Essendon's big win over St Kilda that might interest those who like trivia. The first point of interest came in the first quarter when Paul Salmon bombed a goal from the 50m arc. It was his first goal for Essendon since the second quarter of Essendon's semi-final clash with Richmond in 1995. While we are on goals, Joel Reynolds kicked the first of his career and Adam Ramanauskas haul of three was a personal best.

Essendon's second quarter of 10.3 (63) was its best ever against St Kilda, eclipsing its previous best return of 9.5 (59) which it produced in both 1989 and 2000. Essendon has only ever scored one other 99-point victory and that too came against St Kilda in Round 15 of 1945.
There were no surprises this week when Essendon legend John Coleman was named a Champion of Essendon. Coleman was the clear winner of Group 11, with Paul Salmon and Ted Leehane returning to the repecharge and Alan Noonan omitted. Coleman was one of the greatest players to ever play with Essendon. The dual premiership player kicked 537 goals for the Bombers in his 98 games.
