Contact between Richmond’s Luke McGuane and Hawthorn’s Michael Osborne from the third quarter of Saturday’s game was assessed. The level of impact was below that required to constitute a reportable offence. The free kick that was paid was the appropriate penalty and no futher action was taken.
Contact between Richmond’s Alex Rance and Hawthorn’s Lance Franklin from the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game was assessed. The level of impact was below that required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
Contact between Port Adelaide’s Brett Ebert and the Brisbane Lions’ Cheynee Stiller from the second quarter of Saturday’s game was assessed. The panel said that Ebert had his eyes on the ball at all times and that Stiller was obscured by another Brisbane Lions’ player as Ebert approached the contest. Just as Ebert arrived at the contest, he saw Stiller and attempted to avoid contact. The action was not considered unreasonable in the circumstances as Ebert had his eyes on the ball and attempted to minimise contact once he saw Stiller. No further action was taken.
Contact between North Melbourne’s Alan Obst and St Kilda’s Nick Riewoldt from the first quarter of Sunday’s game was assessed. Due to the inconclusive nature of the video evidence, no further action could be taken.
Contact between St Kilda’s Leigh Montagna and North Melbourne’s Andrew Swallow from the fourth quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. Montagna held up his leg and had his arms outstretched in an attempt to prevent Swallow from getting past him. Montagna’s leg made contact with the North Melbourne player just above the knee and he did not swing his leg into Swallow. No further action was taken.
