James Hird and Matthew Lloyd will return to play at Subiaco this weekend – the ground where both of them sustained long-term injuries in Round 6 this season. Bomber coach Kevin Sheedy quickly dismissed the suggestion Hird has psychological scars returning to play at Subiaco and said he was pleased with the skippers return performance. “He was terrific at going in and getting the ball. He pulled up really well after the match and there will be no doubt that he will be out there this week and be a really good player for us again,” Sheedy said.

Q.Will Lloyd wear the glove for the remainder of the year?
A. I am not sure, but the main thing is that he gets through the year. He came back and kicked five goals, which I thought was a very good effort, in a very tight game. I didn't see it as an exciting game personally, but I think everyone else did. It rated pretty well amongst the football fraternity. I suppose when it was neck and neck and there wasn't much score difference at all of the breaks and at the end the result was determined by a kick after the siren - it certainly has taken soccer away and put AFL back on the map. Our crowds are up - 45,000 people were there on Saturday night and that was really pleasing. So there was some good positives out of it.

Q. How is Paul Salmon?
A. We will just test him and see how he goes this week. The Fish has been a damn good player for us. The only other player we would consider to bring in, is say an Aaron Henneman. We possibly could have been one tall player short and David Hille will naturally come into consideration if Salmon doesn't get up.

Q. How far off is Joe Misiti now?
A. Two weeks. I am not quite sure if Joe would do any better than the players that are in there at the present time. The players have been pretty consistent with their performances and that has been good, particularly when we have had a few players out with injury.
