Matthew Knights today said there is a playing role for veteran forward Matthew Lloyd at Windy Hill in 2010 if he wants to embrace it.
Speaking on SEN this morning, Knights said he will meet with the 31-year-old in the next 48-hours to discuss whether he wants to continue playing.
""We have deliberately given Lloyd this time (to think) and he has been through a lot with the tribunal and Lisa having another daughter so they have had a lot on their plate .. he has had a month to think about whether he actually wants to play on and if he has the hunger to play on,"" Knights said.
""We will talk about that and his role for next year and what I am looking for out of him as coach next season, about his body and his hunger for the game and Matthew will have a choice to make.
""I think it's fabulous for a senior player, or a player that age, to have a choice whether your career continues or not and that's all as a club or as a senior coach that I can do is give that support and guidance to make that choice.
""He deserves that respect as a champion of the club, he deserves all the cards to be on the table so he can make a valued decision on whether he wants to be part of this young group moving forward.
""I am pretty sure when we meet he is going to be pretty concrete on what he wants to do or what he doesn't.""

Knights said he will not be telling his captain his career is over.
""Far from that,"" he said.
""The reality is you have to give support and you have to give guidance, you put all the cards on the table and you make decisions as men.
""I need him to commit and, more so, to embrace (his 2010 role) because that is the most important thing.""
Meanwhile, the TEAM RAMA Charity Fashion Parade and TEAM RAMA Charity Golf Day will be held in November.
Both events will feature past and present Essendon players and the fashion parade will include Adam McPhee’s fashion boutique Sekushi as one of the clothing shops showcased.
