Essendon ruckman Tom Bellchambers is free to play this weekend after he was handed a reprimand for tripping at the VFL tribunal this evening.
The 23-year old pleaded guilty to a charge of tripping Sam Conroy in Bendigo's 26 point win against North Ballarat on the weekend.
It was argued the danger of the action was at the lower end of the scale with the tribunal deciding to downgrade the penalty from a one match ban to a severe reprimand.
Essendon general manager of football operations Paul Hamilton said the Bombers big man would now come into consideration for selection in the AFL team to take on Port Adelaide this weekend.
""It is great to now have Tom available for selection after he performed extremely well in the VFL for Bendigo last weekend and has done so since going back to VFL level,"" Hamilton said.
Essendon captain Jobe Watson is in the studio for this week’s episode of The Hangar, proudly presented by Kia and True Value Solar tonight at 9.30pm on FOX Footy. Watson is in to discuss the latest from Windy Hill including his own dominant start to the season which sees him Brownlow favourite.
