Essendon continues to sure up its playing list for the season’s ahead, today announcing that exciting youngster Jobe Watson has signed a new two-year deal with the club. The announcement comes just one week after rising star Adam McPhee committed to another two years with the club.
Watson has struggled with injury at times this season but he played some good football for the VFL side against Port Melbourne last weekend. On that form, Essendon fans can expect to see him in the senior side before the end of the season.
""He hasn't had a great run with injury over the past couple of seasons but we know he play and we see him as an integral part of the senior side in the years to come,"" Essendon chief executive Peter Jackson said.
The Bomber’s long-term future will be very much in the hands of McPhee, Watson and teammates such as Ricky Dyson, Brent Stanton, Damian Cupido, Andrew Welsh, Kepler Bradley, Joel Reynolds and Ted Richards among others. There is plenty to be optimistic about!
