Essendon are boasting their lightest injury list so far this season and things are only set to improve following the AFL mid-season break this weekend. The Bombers should head into their Round 13 match almost at full strength as selection pressure hits an all-time peak.

Despite withdrawing late from the Bomber’s clash against Port Adelaide due to ankle soreness, Essendon expect Brent Stanton to be a part of their upcoming Friday night blockbuster against Melbourne.

And as the remainder of the senior team prepares to embark on their mid-season break, the rest from football is likely to provide many of Essendon’s injury list with ample recovery time to return fit for their Round 13 Clash for Cancer.

The VFL break last weekend will ensure a rejuvenated stock of players to return for the Bendigo Bombers as they prepare to do battle with the Casey Scorpions at Queen Elizabeth Oval this Sunday.

Courtenay Dempsey (groin), Scott Gumbleton (hamstring) and Nathan Lovett-Murray (groin) look likely to make their return after extended time on the sidelines. While Tom Hislop has recovered from a finger injury and will be set to excite this weekend.

Essendon fitness staff have taken a conservative approach with Andrew Lovett, opting to give him another weeks rest after suffering a knee injury. While Jay Neagle (foot) and Dean Dick (arm) are expected to miss another two weeks.
