Essendon's selection committee have wielded the axe ahead of Saturday's clash with the Kangaroos, making five changes to the side. Tayte Pears comes in to play his first game of the season this week, along with Brent Stanton, Tom Bellchambers and Sam Lonergan. Heath Hocking returns to the side having served a three-match suspension.

Essendon Football Club high performance coach Dr Stuart Cormack has today tendered his resignation to the club. Following three years at Essendon and almost 20 years working in elite sport, including an AFL Premiership with the West Coast Eagles in 2006, Cormack has decided to take a short break to pursue other professional opportunities and more importantly, spend time with his family.
