Tall defender Cale Hooker is free to play against Melbourne on Sunday after accepting a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record for striking Phil Davis, Adelaide Crows, during the third quarter of Saturday night's match with the Adelaide Crows.
""While there may have been an arguement to contest the charge, we were not willing to risk a possible one match penalty given the absence of Fletcher (suspension) and Pears (injury) from our defence,"" Genereal manager of football operations Paul Hamilton said.
""Cale has accepted the reprimand and will play on Sunday which is good news for the team.""
The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. An early plea reduced the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record.
