When looking at the results mid-way through the voting, this is the side that fans wanted to see:

However in the weeks that followed and players vied for selection, it was the fans that held all the cards.
Polling well in the last couple of weeks, Mark Johnson managed to secure himself a starting spot in the back-pocket and sent Mark McVeigh to the bench. However this was in large part due to McVeigh polling in so many positions around the field, with him polling in 15 of the 18 starting positions!
Alwyn Davey continued to win admirers during the pre-season with him missing out by only 52 votes from starting in the pocket, and overtook Jason Laycock with more overall votes, allowing himself to move up a position on the bench.
Kepler Bradley was able to just shade out Jason Winderlich for the last spot on the bench, with perhaps the injection of pace from Davey costing Winderlich as the fans went for a slightly taller bench than the one which was voted for before many had seen the newest recruits.
Fans also seemed to be happy with the way the Mal Michael / Dustin Fletcher combination was working in the pre-season games, with the numbers of voters placing Michael at full-back and Fletcher at centre-half-back actually increasing as the votes rolled in.
