Bomber midfielder Chris Heffernan might have to wait until round four of the home and away season before returning to football this season. Heffernan had an arthroscope on his left knee this afternoon which confirmed the diagnosis. Heffernan dislocated his knee cap in a training mishap at Essendon Grammar yesterday afternoon.

Essendon officials had hoped Heffernan would only miss three weeks after an initial examination. However today's arthroscope revealed more damage than first thought. Heffernan's place in tomorrow night's Ansett Cup match has been taken by Jonathon Robran.
