Recruiting manager Adrian Dodoro will head to the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra next Wednesday October 2 through to Friday October 4 for the 2002 National AFL Draft Camp. Dodoro will be accompanied by senior coach Kevin Sheedy and assistant coaches Mark Harvey, Robert Shaw and Terry Daniher. ""We are going to the draft camp to confirm our thoughts on the players we have seen this season and also introduce these players to the coaching panel, so we can select players that this club needs to go forward and be successful in the future,"" Dodoro said.

The camp, which is a prime component of the National AFL Pathway Program, will see potential draft candidates tested across a range of physical and mental processes, designed to show all clubs their capabilities in the lead-up to this year's National AFL Draft. 73 players from around Australia have been invited to participate in the three day camp.

The Essendon Football Club today announced that Dominic Cato has been appointed the club's Manager of Football Operations. Cato replaces Matthew Drain who after five years with Essendon has taken up a role with the Australian Cricket Board. Cato, 32, has spent the past nine years working as a lawyer with the AFL’s lawyers Browne & Co. He departs as a partner of the firm. Dominic will commence duties on Wednesday, November 6th.
