After the Bombers staged the upset of the season beating the undefeated St. Kilda, assistant coach Ashley Prescott says his side always believed they could achieve what no other side had done.
Speaking on Weekend Rewind, Prescott also highlighted the performance of Jobe Watson who had 37-possessions and was instrumental in the win against the Saints.

“It was fantastic to come out on top against the Saints especially after the result against Brisbane,” he said.
“We had the belief we could do it and that comes from our ability to play well against the better sides.
“It was a game where so many players stood up and took the game into their own hands; Jobe Watson is the prime example there.
“He has become an elite player; I don’t think there is any doubt about it now. What he does with the ball puts him into that category especially since he has refined other areas of his game.
“A couple of weeks ago, when he had that ankle injury, he got himself up to play against Sydney but I think that probably took a little bit of steam out of him for a few weeks.
“He was sensational on the weekend and was a major factor in the win. I think it makes a difference that he is fully fit now and feeling a lot better about himself.”
Prescott was full of praise for Rising Star nominee’s Tayte Pears and Michael Hurley who both played influential roles in the game limiting the Saints' star forwards.
“The way Tayte has stepped up this season and particularly the last couple of weeks against some big names has been incredible,"" he said.
“We threw him the enormous challenge of Brown then Riewoldt - it doesn’t get any bigger than that. His ability to not only limit their influence but also create some attack is just sensational.
“He is a wonderful kid and athlete and is only going to get better and better. He just loves beating his opponents and has a great attitude towards his footy.
“Michael Hurley is absolute unique and will be a very special player for us. Again, similar to Tayte his attitude and ability to adjust is first class, he does whatever the coaches ask of him.
“The way he is with his teammates too is outstanding; he is all about building respect and getting respect off them. I think that is reflected in the way he goes about his game.
“He is an absolute cracker Michael Hurley, I think the big question with him is where is he better suited - forward or back - I don’t think we even know at the moment!
“But I have the sneaking suspicion that Jay Neagle and Scott Gumbleton will hit their straps in the forward line, which will create a Hurley and Pears combo down back - I think it would be a pretty healthy situation to have.”
