Kevin Sheedy has sent his players some very clear warnings in the past seven days. Firstly he took a risk and sent a number of senior players back to the VFL side to play Box Hill Hawks – he risked having important players injured in a bid to get his message across – he needs them at their best. He re-iterated that message again at a press conference this week when he said they would need to play good football to beat a Melbourne side that was back to the form that saw it reach the 2000 Grand Final. In just over 24 hours time we will see how the Essendon players have responded to the urgings of their coach.
