Quiz question: Kevin Sheedy has lost two games as a coach during the year 2000. One was to the Western Bulldogs, who was the second loss to?

Answer: Sheedy coached one of the Asian All-Star teams over the weekend in Singapore and his side copped a thumping, eventually going down by seven-goals.

However, the match result still proved to be a winner for the Bombers with Mark Harvey coaching the winning side.

The teams were comprised of 16 players from Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Malaysia with the balance of players coming from Singapore.

The two sides, which comprised 16 players on the ground and four on the bench, met at a ground on the picturesque Centosa Island just off Singapore.

According to victorious coach Harvey the match was never in doubt.

"I made some pretty astute moves and Sheeds was pretty slow on the uptake," Harvey laughed. "I reckon the heat might have got to him."

"I dragged one of the local blokes off the ground and gave him a bit of a spray. I then realised he couldn't speak a word of English."

On a serious note Harvey said the Asian nations, comprising mainly of ex-patriot Australians, were making a real fist of developing the code.

"They are fighting an uphill battle because they don't have any grounds but they are very keen. Players flew in from all over Asia to play in the game," Harvey said.

"They play about 10 games a season which is great. By the same token I think it might be a decade or two before we look at drafting someone from that part of the world."
