Hard working Bomber forward Angus Monfries has shown that he wants to be part of the Bombers' future by signing a new two-year contract.

The 23-year-old says he is excited about what this team can achieve in the next few years and wants to be part of that future success.

""I think it is an exciting time for the footy club and I am confident in the direction that the club is heading in,"" Monfries said.

""I am certain that future success isn't far away and that we can win a premierhship. We have the programs and coaching staff behind the playing group.""

Monfries said he is happy to be calling Windy Hill home until at least the end of the 2012 season and - despite plenty of trade talk in the AFL with two new teams entering the competition - never entertained the thought of leaving.

""I am in my sixth year at the footy club and really enjoy playing for a power-house club like Essendon,"" he said.

""Over my time at the club I've developed great relationships with the players and it has become my home away from home.""

The South Australian rejected media speculation about disharmony in the football department saying it simply isn't true.

""I am not sure where these rumours come from because, as a playing group, we are united and believe that we are heading in the right direction,"" he said.

""I have a good relationship with Knighta and he has the support of the playing group - we believe he can take us forward.""

Monfries called on the fans to get behind the players and coaches and turn Etihad into an Essendon cauldron on Saturday night.

He said the players would love to see more than 30,000 fans at the ground for the clash with West Coast and cheer the team onto victory.

""It would be great to see heaps of red and black scarves waving at the game,"" he said.
