Captain painted into a corner
Courage under fire is something Essendon captain Matthew Lloyd has been renowned for during his time in the goal-square. Under there has been plenty of fire thanks to some angry full backs. But rumour has it that Lloyd’s bravery deserted him during a recent paintball battle.
Courage under fire is something Essendon captain Matthew Lloyd has been renowned for during his time in the goal-square. Under there has been plenty of fire thanks to some angry full backs. But rumour has it that Lloyd’s bravery deserted him during a recent paintball battle.
Insiders have told essendonfc.com.au, that Lloyd basically refused to discharge his weapon and covered up in a corner while a number of his teammates went on the attack. It was of all course all in the name of fun and doing something a bit different to break up what has been a long pre-season.
Essendon Football Club wishes to thank Melbourne Indoor Paintball at 25 Salmon Street, Port Melbourne for their hospitality.
Essendon will not risk any of its key players in this weekend’s Bendigo Bombers practice match against Frankston in Learmonth. With minimal injury concerns just 11 days out from the season opener, the Bombers see no reason to risk adding to their injury list.
