The Bombers look set to welcome a number of big names back to the side when they face North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
General manager of football operations Paul Hamilton said pending selection, Brent Stanton and Sam Lonergan, who were rested due to soreness and illness, will be valuable inclusions for the clash against the Kangaroos.

“Brent has had a really good training session and trained very well out on the track earlier today, so we’d be very surprised if he wasn’t made available this week,” Hamilton said.
“The boys have been out there today as their main training session this week and they obviously very clearly want to redeem themselves to some degree and train well. The atmosphere amongst them is still really good.
“Sam will definitely be available to play this week. He had a cortisone injection last week and there is no reason why he shouldn’t be free to play this week and he was another player who has trained well earlier today.""
338-game veteran Dustin Fletcher, who left the field late in the second quarter on Sunday with a corked thigh, will also be available for selection this week, after a solid training session on Wednesday morning.
“He’s got through the main training session and that’s a really good sign so we would expect Dustin to play [this week] but of course you always wait until the end of the week to be certain. From what we saw on the training track today however, we think Dustin will be fine.”
Hamilton said the Club had almost a clean bill of health and were looking forward to welcoming back a number of players heading into Round 13.
“From an injury point of view it’s mainly all good news- we shouldn’t lose anyone from the weekend and we should get a number of players back and in the end we’ve ended up with a fairly healthy list this week,” he said.
Hamilton told BomberTV Scott Gumbleton and Darcy Daniher would face fitness tests later in the week before the Bendigo Bombers’ squad selection for this weekend's clash against the Box Hill Hawks at Windy Hill.
“We’re really keen to see both those lads return and play some football. As long as they get through the full week of training and they definitely need to make sure they get through the full week, then they should hopefully be both available to play in the VFL this weekend,” he said.
Hamilton added that wounded duo Jason Winderlich and Courtenay Dempsey were tracking well with their recovery and rehabilitations.
""Both Courtenay and Jason are progressing extremely well, and the doctors and surgeons are all really happy with them both,"" he said.
“We’re happy with the way they are tracking and they are players we want to see working hard in the pre-season so they’re ready to go come Round 1 next year. So far, they are on track with that which is very pleasing.""
