Assistant coach Ashley Prescott is bitterly disappointed with Sunday's loss against Richmond admitting that the result could seriously hinder the Bombers' chances of playing finals this year.
Speaking on Weekend Rewind, Prescott said the team did not play its best football until the game was on the line which was simply not good enough at this stage in the season.
“A very disappointing game for us, if we had played to our potential we would have won but we didn’t unfortunately,” he said.

“When the game was on the line and it looked like the four points was going to be taken away from us, that’s when we played our best football, but for the first two quarters it was non-existent.
“Richmond did it very well, they denied us the ball and slowed the game down. They don’t usually play that style either but they held the footy and played a real slow tempo style of play.
“That doesn’t mean we needed to play that way too, but we couldn’t get it off them initially and then started playing slow as well.
“We needed to tighten the screws up and not allow them to have uncontested ball, and then when we got it we needed to burst and run a bit harder.
“That was the tale of the day; our run was just so far down, it would have been difficult to beat any side.”

Prescott believes that selection pressure will trigger the side to play better this week when they travel to Subiaco to play West Coast.
“There are a few VFL players that are showing they are really hungry at the moment, whilst Bendigo hasn’t got over the line in the last couple of weeks, they are playing much better,"" he said.
“Skipworth and Lonergan were both very good this week, Neagle is starting to come through and we saw Lovett-Murray come back this week after a VFL stint with real hunger and desperation.
“There will be at least one change this week with Lloydy going to miss, Neagle has been impressive the past few weeks in the VFL, he is a talent and could possibly be the one to help refresh the team.
“The trip interstate this week to take on West Coast is a good opportunity for the boys to get away as a group, regroup a bit and hopefully have a good win.”
