There is definitely no rest for the wicked this week at Windy Hill. The players commenced pre-season training on Monday and over the past two days have been busy completing fitness testing. Fitness coach John Quinn said he was pleased with the physical condition of the players following the break. ""Since Monday, the players have been doing speed tests, skinfold tests, the beep test and a few players did a VO2 max test earlier today,"" Quinn said.

The Beep Test always seems to get competitive between the players and it was Adam McPhee who took the honours. ""All the players have returned in great shape and performed well today in the Beep test. Yesterday when the bulk of the testing was done, it was Damian Cupido, Joel Reynolds and Jason Winderlich who recorded the fastest speed tests, which was an encouraging sign for our mid-field stocks,"" Quinn said.

The Essendon team will participate in a 3.2km time trial tomorrow morning at Princes Park. ""After the time trial we have pretty much done the majority of the fitness tests, so from tomorrow onwards it is a matter of going full steam ahead into the pre-season program,"" Quinn said.
