Exciting young Bomber Courtenay Dempsey has been included in the Essendon team to play Port Adelaide on Saturday night. Dempsey forced his way into the Bombers' line up after a brilliant performance for Bendigo last weekend.

Dempsey impressed all with his speed and ability to run with the ball and he is expected to play a prominent role in the Essendon midfield on Saturday night. Jason Winderlich has also been rewarded for an outstanding display for Bendigo while Joel Reynolds retains his place in the side.

Jason Johnson was omitted from the side as was Damien Peverill. There may be a further change to the side should Andrew Lovett's appeal against his suspension be over-turned at appeal tonight.
