Following Sunday’s member recognition round at Etihad Stadium, Essendon Football Club are pleased to confirm that crowd numbers have increased 11.5% for the 2011 season - recording the club’s highest attendance in the home and away season since 2001.
Essendon’s recent on-field performances, including thrilling victories over Geelong in Round 15 and Sydney in Round 20, have resulted in aggregated crowd numbers increasing by 8.3% at 1,093,206 (compared to 2010: 1,009, 837).
Essendon used Sunday’s clash against Port Adelaide as a ‘member recognition round’ – an opportunity to thank all members and supporters for their loyalty and support throughout the 2011 season.
The club organised a number of activities at the ground and on the concourse as well as a member guard of honours and presentations of signed guernseys from the Bombers following the come-from-behind seven point victory against Port Adelaide.
The club wishes to thank all members and supporters for their continued loyalty ahead of the Bombers first finals campaign since 2009.
