A logo celebrating Essendon’s 16 premierships is a key element of the club’s 140 year commemorative Guernsey to be worn against Carlton on Friday night.

The logo will be embedded inside the neck of the guernsey celebrating the club’s VFL/AFL premiership since its first game in 1873.

Essendon’s last premiership came in 2000 defeating Melbourne by 60 points.

The club’s first premiership came in 1897 when they were one of eight clubs to join the new Victorian Football League winning the league’s first premiership.

The retail version of the 140 year commemorative guernsey will exclusively feature the 140 number sublimation across the back.

Over the next two days the club will reveal key elements of the guernsey before the full reveal of the design on Wednesday.
