AustralianParalympian Jess Gallagher has finished sixth in the javelin F12/13 at the 2012London Paralympic Games.

Gallaghernever recovered after a poor start to her campaign slumping to a throw of just26.78m on her fourth throw and managed a best of just 33.56m.

The26-year-old’s personal best throwing effort of 38.80m would have been enough towin the silver medal.

Gallagherwas extremely disappointed following the event.

""This is the moment and knowing that if I had ofthrown up around my PB that I would have medalled is the hardest thing,""she said.

""You put in all the hard work and to not throw thedistance I would have liked is disappointing.

""I was in a bit of pain out there and to not have thebody react how I wanted it to is hard to handle.”

Gallagher will compete in the Long Jump (F13) on FridaySeptember 7 at 7.40pm London time.
