Essendon Football Club is pleased to announce its 2011 Telstra AFL Community Camp will be held in Bendigo on February 7 – 8.
As part of the two day camp, the club will hold an open training session, super clinics, as well as school, hospital and community visits.
Essendon Chief Executive Ian Robson said the camp emphasised the Bombers support and commitment to the broader and local community, and further strengthened the club’s existing relationship with the City of Bendigo and the surrounding area.
“This year’s community camp is a fantastic way for the club to recognise the valued and wonderful support Essendon receives from the Bendigo Bank, Bendigo Bombers and the greater community of Bendigo,” he said
Dennis Bice, Executive Retail Bendigo Bank welcomed the news.
“This is truly great for the community to be involved in many different activities through education, sport, schools and the opportunity to be involved in elite sport,” he said.
David Joss, Chairman of the Bendigo Bombers acknowledged Essendon's strong commitment to the area.
“It is fantastic to see Essendon coming to Bendigo in February as part of the AFL community camp program. It proves their commitment to Football in Bendigo and it provides an excellent opportunity for everyone in Bendigo to experience AFL football up close,” he said.
