Stars Jake Stringer, Zach Merrett and Darcy Parish have earned seven votes each in the AFL Coaches Association's AFL Champion Player Award for their performances in Essendon's 18-point win over North Melbourne on Sunday.

In a tight tussle with the Kangaroos, Stringer changed the game with a devastating finish at Metricon Stadium.

The electrifying forward booted his first goal on the stroke of three-quarter time, adding another three in the final term to put the Kangaroos to the sword.

Merrett (39 disposals, nine clearances, seven inside 50s) and Parish (34 disposals, 16 contested possessions, six tackles) were dominant in midfield, with the latter moving up to seventh position overall and 15 votes behind leaders Marcus Bontempelli and Clayton Oliver.

Hard-working forward Peter Wright was rewarded for his efforts, earning five votes to round out the Bombers' contingent.

The 24-year-old booted three goals, while equalling his career-highs in disposals (20) and contested marks (four) in the absence of injured forward Harrison Jones.
