Mark McVeigh
Mark McVeigh played 14 seasons for the Bombers between 1999 and 2012, serving as vice-captain in his final years. Retiring at the end of 2012, it was evident that life in the AFL sphere was only just beginning for McVeigh, whose passion to play was only exceeded by his drive to develop talent and coach others.
Since retiring, he has built his coaching career at the elite level, most recently as an assistant coach at Sydney, and before that across nine seasons at Greater Western Sydney, including a stint as interim senior coach in 2022, giving him first-hand experience of the demands of the top job.
