Coach Matthew Knights says reigning-Premiers Geelong are as dangerous as ever and he is expecting a great contest when his side comes up against them in a blockbuster clash this Saturday night.
The Bombers are on the hunt for retribution after a heart-breaking 31-point loss to Geelong in Round 1.
“We can only draw confidence from the last five or six weeks, more so than Geelong Round 1 as they got over the top of us pretty strong in the end and won quite convincingly,” Knights told Bomber.tv.
“Saturday night will be a great contest for us, being the second time we have played the top side in 12-weeks.”
While it is not known whether dangerous Geelong forwards Cameron Mooney and James Podsiadly will play due to injury, Knights said there is still an array of talented Geelong players which his side must be weary of.
“We are expecting Mooney and Podsiadly to play but it does certainly change the dynamic if they are out of the team,” he said.
“What we do know is that one or two of them will always pop up and get you.
“I have the highest respect for Shannon Burns, Travis Varcoe, Paul Chapman, Steve Johnson and Matthew Stokes because their work rate is so high.
“I think they’re a very talented team and have got a lot of threats.”
After winning four out of their past six matches, Knights acknowledged his side’s recent solid form, but believes it is not relevant when up against the top side on Saturday.
“We have certainly been pleased with our last six weeks, with the two losses we’ve had being by three and nine points,” Knights said.
“There is a better balance in the side with the mix of the players in the team at the moment, so long they as they can keep their standards high and keep playing well.
“What we have done in the last six weeks doesn’t come into the equation now. We are playing the best team in the competition so we have to step up again and show everyone that we can mix it with the best.”

One of the great things about the 2010 season has been the emergence of a number of promising young players. Talented Bombers like Cale Hooker, Leroy Jetta and Scott Gumbleton have taken a big step but who has been the biggest improver?
