The Bombers will this week launch a special podcast series dedicated to their 150-year anniversary.

Recorded within the walls of Windy Hill, Fabric of the Essendon Football Club, powered by Liberty, will feature in-depth chats between club historian Dan Eddy and 20 of the club’s most adored names across multiple decades.

Triple premiership hero Tim Watson will kick off the series on Wednesday, with a new episode each week.

Eddy said the podcast would delve deeper into the talking points from docuseries The Bombers: Stories of a Great Club, which aired exclusively on Kayo late last year.

“With the docuseries, you’re sort of restricted to certain comments you can make regarding a certain subject, and then you move on to the next one. With the podcast, we’ve been able to elaborate more on the series and tell the funny side to things. It’s more a general chat and the guys are relaxed,” Eddy said.

“We wanted to tell a lot of great stories about the history of the club through the people who have lived the highs and lows and enjoyed the successes together.

“They’ll show the family culture of the club, how much the club embraced its people and how those people flourished from being in that environment.

“We’ll hear the players in a more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, and the stories that come out of it are some new ones the fans will enjoy.”

The Bomber faithful will be able to listen to the first episode via Omny and Spotify, with the podcast also coming shortly to Google Podcasts and Apple Podcasts.
