The Bombers interacted with schools and local football clubs throughout Victoria on Tuesday as part of their 2022 community camp.

With COVID-19 forcing this year's camp to go virtual, the community camp connects players with grassroot communities to acknowledge the work schools, clubs, volunteers and participants do in promoting football and Auskick.

Andrew McGrath, Sam Draper and Nick Bryan started the day with a live video call to schools to answer questions and discuss a variety of topics, including the importance of teamwork and healthy lifestyles.

Following this, Jake Stringer, Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti and Harrison Jones jumped on another call where students were interested in chatting about match-day preparation and leadership.

The team also recorded over 130 personalised messages for Auskick participants and centres around Victoria.

To recognise the tireless work that community volunteers do, players also sent out five personalised messages to nominated volunteers from a range of roles, including team managers, coordinators and presidents.

In a club first, two schools from the Tiwi Islands - one of Essendon's Next Generation Academy zones - were also included in the camp.
