REIGNING Lambert-Pearce medallist Georgia Nanscawen is on track to claim another major award after taking the lead in the inaugural rebel VFLW Coaches Player of the Year award.

Essendon captain Nanscawen, who was earlier this year named the Bombers’ first AFLW signing, polled her first perfect 10 vote-haul of the season after picking up 34 disposals, seven marks, eight clearances, six inside-50s and seven tackles in her team’s dominant victory over Darebin.

It took her to 55 votes and gave her a one-vote advantage over last week’s leader Hannah Stuart, the Southern Saints star who grabbed another seven votes for her 26 disposals, eight clearances and a goal against the Western Bulldogs.

As with the AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year, the VFLW award is voted on by the coaches of each club after every game in both competitions.

The coaches are awarding 5-4-3-2-1 to their best players in the game from either team, with those votes collated and revealed each week on vfl.com.au.

Another five new players attracted the coaches’ attention for the first time in Round 10, making it 212 who have polled votes for the season.
