With last weekend’s massive win under their belt, the Bendigo Bombers are set to open the ANZAC Day weekend with their own clash against Collingwood today in the lead up to Essendon’s Sunday clash at the MCG.

The Round 3 VFL match, which will take place at Victoria Park at 2pm, will feature an all-star line-up including Jay Neagle, Brent Prismall, Bachar Houli, Jason Laycock, Sam Lonergan and Ben Howlett.

Bendigo Bombers coach Shannon Grant said that he expects the Essendon-listed players to continue contributing positively to the Bendigo team, just like they did in last week’s outstanding team-effort.

“The best thing about last week was that we didn’t rely on one or two players to get us over the line,” Grant said.

“We had a pretty solid and even contribution from everyone so we’ll certainly be expecting the same again this week.”

Grant also said that Prismall has been a real asset to the Bendigo side.

“Last weekend I thought he was great for us,” Grant said.

“He won a lot of the ball and defensively he worked extremely hard as well, so I’m sure if he strings another one together he’ll put his name back up for senior selection quickly.

“Collingwood are a pretty good side both at AFL and VFL level, so I think it will be a good challenge to see where the Bendigo group is at and hopefully they continue to respond  the way they have been”.

The Bendigo team is:

B Long, Flaherty, Houli

HB Hardinghan, SHinners. T. Slattery

C Prismall, Marigliani, Skipworth

HF Lonergan Still Neagle

F Howlett, Carlisle, Cloke

R Laycock, Myers, Atkinson

Interchange: Bellchanbers, Jetta, Scanlon. Crameri, J. Williams, Silverlock, Page, Bock, Temel
