Essendon has named its team for Friday night's 150th anniversary clash with Carlton.

The Dons have made three changes to face the Blues, with midfielder-forward Jake Stringer, defender Mason Redman and utility Matt Guelfi all named for round 13.

Coming out of the side are forwards Devon Smith, Tex Wanganeen, Alec Waterman and midfielder Brayden Ham.

Tomorrow night's fixture will be the first game back from a hamstring injury for Stringer, who last appeared in round seven.

Guelfi returns from a hamstring strain suffered several weeks ago in Dreamtime at the 'G, while Redman has been recalled from his one-week suspension for striking.

With Waterman, Wanganeen and Ham omitted from the side, Smith will miss this week as he continues to battle an ongoing knee issue which has plagued him this season.
