Plenty of positives for Bendigo
The Bendigo Bombers are back on the winners list after putting an end to their four match losing streak, defeating the Frankston Dolphins by 23 points at Frankston Oval on the weekend. After allowing Frankston to control the momentum early and secure a 23-point lead heading into the first break, a diligent Bendigo unit fought unrelentingly to regain rule of the match. By half-time the Bombers had taken over the lead which they continued to build on for the remainder of the match to finish 23-point victors.

Jason Cloke, Ben Jolley and Tom Hislop were busy all day finding plenty of touch, while Kepler Bradley, Jarrod Atkinson and Grant Weekes combined well to create a potent forward line for the Bombers, each securing two majors.
Jason Laycock showed his experience by dominating in the rucking contests for the entirety of the match, however the standout performer was Jay Nash who managed to collect 22 possessions in only half a game of football in his first match back for Bendigo after being hampered by a foot injury.
Despite a resounding victory over Brisbane last weekend, the Essendon selectors may still spring a couple of surprises for this week’s Dreamtime at the G match against Richmond. Youngster Tom Hislop impressed with an excellent game off half back for Bendigo while Jay Nash produced an outstanding half of football coming off an extended period on the sidelines with a foot injury.
