Essendon Football Club would like to congratulate champion James Hird as he qualifies for an AFL Life Membership this weekend with his 300<SUP>th</SUP> official game as a player and coach since his debut in 1992.
Essendon Football Club would like to congratulate champion James Hird as he qualifies for an AFL Life Membership this weekend with his 300th official game as a player and coach since his debut in 1992.
Hird, a former Essendon captain, two-time Premiership player and five-time All-Australian officially became a Legend of the Essendon Football Club this year after being inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame.
Recognizing his contribution to the wider game, Hird qualifies for an AFL Life Membership after 253 premiership games as a player, 21 pre-season games as a player, one state of origin game, four International Rules matches and 15 premiership games a coach and five pre-season games as a coach.
Hird, who played 253 games for the Bombers between 1992 and 2007, is in his first season as coach of Essendon.
